Hi,

Thought I'd introduce myself before posting the compulsory noob questions.
My name is Matthew & I've recently been bitten by the ED Civic bug.

Bought my first one, a very standard/plain white 88 2 door manual hatch around 6 months ago whilst I was looking for a cheap small car to get me to work & back.

I fell in love with the size, shape & handling immediately & then set about looking for a second car to either become a donor for parts, or to replace the "plain Jane".

I picked up my second grey? 88 2 door manual hatch about 1 week ago, which was someone's unfinished project - not running due to carby problems? (starts with heaps of black smoke & then dies out) but it has loads of potential.

My plan is to use the grey one as a mini project & turn it into something reasonable as a daily driver & then completely strip & rebuild the white one & make something really special.

First question - get the dual carbies reconditioned or go for a pair of webers?

Welcome!

And youve picked the right gen civic thats for sure! (not biased)(a little biased)

As for the carbies, a reco kit will run you about $150, plus labour.

If you can, just find someone wrecking one, and pull the carbies off that.
