Hey guys, anyone have any idea why my p/s fluid keeps overflowing? The fluid is new, there are no leaks in the system and it is at the correct level. It has only started to do this over the past few weeks.

usually happens when there is a lot of air in the PS system. Is it foamy?
Other causes are to much pressure in the PS system due to a faulty PS pump.

Will check if it is foamy after a drive tomorrow. P/S feels normal, only changed the fluid 2-3 months ago.

not alot but enough to cover the top of the bottle in oil and surrounding parts

It is fully down, but its just a plastic cap, no rubber seals.

Possibility that one of the seals in the p/steering rack is leaking and sucking air into the system, causing it to over pressurise and pour out the overflow bottle. Happens alot on Commodores

Your tunnel vision really does amaze me. A seal is a seal. Doesnt matter if it is in a holden, honda, hyundai etc it is still a rubber seal. I was using it as an example, not a comparison

Not sure what it had before but i completed drained it, jack all would of remained in the system.
There are no leaks at all, had a look yesterday. The level did go down slightly because of the overflow. Will check it again tomorrow.
Any possibility the fluid could be overheating?

time for a fluid flush.
curtis recommends Duncan Nissan (perth joke) to do fluid flushes and service, it only cost curtis 1000$
