Hey guys,

I am new here and I am googling and searching these forums but have nonidea on what xenon hid's are in my 05 accord euro lux

What's the base rated? 8000? And what's needed to upgrade these?

anyway stock HID's are usually 4500-5000ish, there is no brighter colour available.

Ah okay that's my base question answered, but is there a way to upgrade them to 8000 10000 or even 12000

yep, change the bulbs with a compatible brand - whether or not it's an upgrade is your own opinion - i like 6000 personally :)

Should also note that the higher the K, the less you see, especially in the rain. I'm running 6k right now, and it's about as far as I would go. Had 5k been available when I had mine installed I would have got that.

Visibility/Range is one, the other is getting your ass kicked by Police ;)

Nothing more noticeable @ night than a blue/red light lol

i recall stock HIDs being 4300k.
Going 6000k would probably be best if you want max light output. any higher its just the fancy colours and a bit less visibility.

OEM are 4300 Kelvin, and I would go up to 6000K only. Anything above 6000 will just for look for not for useful purposes. IMO.

back when we first had hids my cuzz had 30k pinks hid. if he turns it on while driving the car would shut off. and had to clutch in, put into gear. turn hids off then release clutch. gave the car character :P

Your headlights are required to be white to be legal. 6000K-6500K is the limit I would consider. If you go too far over 6000K, you risk being pulled over/defected.

So no purple pink headlights for you.
