Loaded 5 people into my car today and this was the result after hearing a pop noise.

Comparing it to the other side the top of the spring has popped down and is no longer in contact with the top of the coil over. The side is also a few centimetres lower than the other.
The coilovers are tein type flex.

Jack it up and see if the spring wobbles around, lower it carefully making sure the spring seats properly

Yeah the picture was taken with the car jacked up and the wheel removed.
The spring is now seated normally now that the car is on the ground. There's still a considerable difference in ride height. The car was 100% the same height all.around until today after the pop sound. The control arms are angled differently at the rear as well.

I'm on holidays and have a 300km drive ahead of me so I'm worried since I don't have the tools to have a better look.
Could it be that the shock is blown?

nah a blown shock wouldn't affect that.
I still think the spring isn't seated properly - is the bad side higher or lower?
is the height adjustment on the same notch (i'm assuming it is)

Looks like the spring isnt seated properly. And if you continue on like that you will get a blown shock.

Have you been adjusting the spring perch height to raise/lower the car previously?

The affected side is a few centimetres lower. Ive completed the drive home and ill be jacking up the car tomorrow to have a good look.
Both coilovers were adjusted to the same spring preload and height meaning the height of both sides matched until I heard the pop sound.

check to see if the adjustment nuts have maybe stripped threads either off the shock body of the inside of the nut causing it to slip down

Yeah its all been looked at now and ive found out what the pop sound was.
The rear sway bar bracket along with the bolts are gone on one side. Also the spring preload on the lower side became loose leaving the spring to freely move up and down :S.
Also got defected the other day for being 8cm off the ground where my cat is so Ive had to raise my car which is how I discovered the issues.
Now to source some cheap sway bar brackets from somewhere including the bolts (The bushing was still on lol)
