Hi everyone,
I am really interested in track racing and I did a lot when I was in my home country.
I am wondering how I can start involving in track racing in Melbourne.
I really want to do it professionally therefore I tried to find if there is any racing school in Melbourne to provide training and competitions, but it seems like there is no such thing.
Any advice from you guys?
Thanks for helping me!

there are driver training days going on around through out the year, u just need to search around a little more.
if u want to do some Competitions try IPRA, theres prob a few more but i dont really know them. hit up the CAMS, Winton, Calder or Sandown websites and see what you can find regarding competition.

There are quite a few driver training schools around that provide pro drivers and plenty of track time. I've done a John Bowe high performance trackday before and I would highly recommend them. Heaps of pro drivers there (inc John Bowe) and a full day with as much track time as you want (usually a few nice cars too!!). Think I got about 40 laps in that day taking it pretty easy. Cost was around the $450 mark for the day.

if you have the confidence of going at it alone there are always tampered sports days at Winton which come up every month or so.
There are also test and tune on fridays (i think once a month) however the cars there vary and there are a lot of professional teams going at it.
Other car clubs which do different tracks like AROCCA does Sandown, TCCAV does Winton 5 hour, There is also the annual Haunted Hill (hill climb).
Here is more information on Tampered and Winton where the majority of the Melbourne boys track their cars. It's the easiest to get into without having forum membership on private track days.

Yep, if you want to jump on with other clubs by yourself some other good ones are:
WRXClub - various tracks
PIARC - Philip Island
Tampered (as above) - Winton
Plus a whole bunch of others. Can usually find something happening somewhere, more mates you can get in more clubs the more days you find out about. Can easily do couple times a month if you know what's happening and where.

I know this is not the professional advice you seek, but for the upcoming H Nationals event at Winton, we'll be giving people the opportunity to have an experienced driver sit in with people who feel they need some pointers on their driving.
Take a look at this thread for more information:
