if it was already registered in NSW.
then I dont see why it wouldnt

why is it imported again? usually Imported S2k's cant be registered in Australia unless its a private import (owned for atleast 12months whilst you lived with it in another country)

just over heard a mate saying the rules between vic and and nsw are different.
well I was under the intention that this certain blue s2000 was import only

(im yet to see the car so havent even looked under the hood to see if it was an import or not)

thanks for the info mate, much appreciated

S2000 isn't on SEVS eligible so it's a private import...

Only eligible Hondas for SEVS are:

059/00 MA Honda Beat PP1 1990-1995
257/01 MA Honda Civic Type R EP3 New Vehicles - 12/2005
410/02 MA Honda Civic Type R EP3 08/2001 - 12/2005
A03/00 LC Honda XRV750 RD07P 01/01/1989 - 31/12/1993
711/00 LC Honda Zoomer NPS50 01/01/2001 - Current

The rules for registration are different between VIC & NSW. Previously NSW was stricter than VIC but recent changes to VicRoads? Both are just as painful as each other.

From memory, even if its a private import, it should have the appropriate compliance paperwork and plate :)

Okay, not sure on this particular s2000 model.

However!

My AE111 was imported and compiled in NSW, it was registered there initially. As dreadangel says, better make sure there is a compliance plate!

In order to change the registration to VIC, all I had to do is obtain a RWC and book an appointment for change of registration at Vicroads.

Note - Because the car still had registration with RTA, I only had to surrender the plates, there were no inspections.

This is going back to 2011, rules may have changed, however my friend had his EG transferred from NSW to VIC about 10 months ago (when the new RWC laws came in) and there were no problems.
