i was pulling apart my exhaust getting ready for someone to pick the conversion,
they dog it and pulled out at the last second when i noctied my cat was completey block,im wondering could this have caused the overheating and carcked the sleeve on the old block good thing i check could have happened again.
could a blocked cat caused that sort of damage

what caused the cat to block up is probably what made it go bang lean mixture too much heat
too many variables to guess correctly

thanks, its good to finally feel the power difference heaps, better then a b16 or b18.
Drive up hills easy, get pulled back in your seat for my boosted motor im thinking of getting a dart b20,rather then b18.
just need to sell my n/a setup for funds for the block and head, and the gear ratio is to short with the gearbox i have now,
im revving at 4200 at 110km so i need a vtir box.

It won't accelerate as hard if you put a longer FD in it.

Could always just change out your 5th gear. I'm most likely going to use a B18B 5th gear instead of my B16A one when I move to a 4.9 FD.
What current ratio/FD are you using?
