hey guys,
Need some help. My head gasket popped so i replaced it. Since then my vtec doesnt seem like its full potential. Is it something i did wrong when i put my engine together?

Sounds like your VTEC is falling off.

yeah have a look at the back of your block to see if your VTEC is still there :)

if he dindnt plug in the Vtec wire his engine light would come on.
if his Vtec fell off it, the left rear tyre would go flat.
what did yoiu have done to the head, was it shaved at all, what head gasket did you use

Just a question: why would ur left tyre go flat?

Sorry for OT

My engine light is on.. Im scared. What should i do? wher is the vtec solenoid plug placed?..Im pretty sure that my valve timing is timed right. My engine just cuts out at about 7000rpm(8000rpm is more like it).

Are you sure the gasket is the right thickness? The wrong one will change your compression and it might be the cause of your lagging VTEC...

farr ...

yeah u should make sure all ur wiring is connected ..
if u think the engine is fine then take it to a autoelectrician to take a look it might be a glitch from ur ecu.

the guy is asking a question.. why the stupid sarcastic comments..
ANYWAY

if your engine is cuttin out at 7gs then obviously that means your vtec isnt working ie somewhere along the line maybe vtec isnt conencted
check the ecu code
it will probably be one of these
21) VTEC Solenoid Valve- Defective circuit or unplugged/ Defective solenoid
22) VTEC Oil Pressure Switch - Defective circuit or unplugged/ Defective switch
theres should be 2 wires coming out of your solenoid.. one goes to ground and the other goes into your wiring harness which leads to the ECU..
if its the oil pressure switch then its the green thing just under the solenoid that may need connecting (or replacing)

ohh yeah if u dont know how to check the ECU code.. go the the passenger side carpet under the glove box.. lift it up to expose the ECU..u should see a flashing light with the ignition on.. count the number of flashes to get the code..
EG: A long flash indicates tens and a short flash indicates ones, so one long flash will mean code 10 and one fast flash shows code 1.
For example: Flaaaaaash Flaaaaaash Flash = code 21

yellow circle in the pic is the solenoid and the blue circle is the pressure switch
