Well, the time has come to grow up....

I have had my '99 Prelude VTIR for over 5 years...done quite a few mods to it, including KYB AGX adjustable shocks, S2K steering wheel, JDM foglights with yellow Laminex for the full JDM yo look, Weapon R short shifter adapter, Borg industries 500g shift knob, stereo system, CAI, aftermarket swaybars, etc. Heaps of little things to make it my own...to make it feel how i want it to, not how Honda think the majority of customers want it to feel.

But, she got defected over 2 years ago and i never bothered to clear it...the rego has well and truly lapsed since.
Pure laziness on my part.
The 'lude is sitting in the back yard with no plates, gathering cobwebs and i have been using public transport cause it is a hell of a lot cheaper and i live and work within 500m of train stations, so it is easy as hell to do public transport.
But i have my first child, (Squishy), on the way so i simply need my car back. cant take a newborn/baby on the train like an inbred, housing commission, toothless, drain on the system, dropkick, bogan.
So, right now i am doing what needs to be done for 3 things: 1, for it to pass the roadworthy. 2, for it to be safe and comfy for the offspring. 3, not look like a hoon-mobile that wants to have a go at the traffic light grand prix with every wanker in their body-kitted lancer or commodore with chrome rims that cost more than the whole car.

Starting point:

In this process i have have done/plan to:
- remove the stickerbombing from the lip [DONE]
- repaint the lip colour coded [DONE]
- repaint wheels to gunmetal [DONE]
- remove windscreen stickers
- remove yellow laminex from foggies
- get standard issue plates (slimline)
- replace all 4 tyres (worn on inside)
- wheel alignment to prevent further inside edge tyre wear
- remove 2x 12 inch subs from boot (baby no need doof doof and need room for pram) [DONE]
- adjust dampening on KYB shocks to softest setting (always kept on stiffest) [DONE]
- reregister (der)

It is a slow process due to also spending money getting ready for the midget and working full-time, but i gotta do what i gotta do.

Seems like you're on the right track to getting it looking clean and less like a hoons car haha. How are those AGX's? I'm thinking of getting a set with tein s-tech but Id love someones opinion of them on rough Australian roads.

i love the KYBs. Not as stiff on the stiffest setting as some...like Konis...but still brilliant.
For daily driving they are great. wouldn't really want stiffer on regular roads and i dont track.

So are they nice and soft on soft setting? I'm looking for a stock like ride with that adjustability for windy roads or a track.

took the yellow off the foggies today so they are now non-jdm jdm foggies. :P

and i took off the led strips from the front.

plus the other day i took off most of the stickers. the only one left on the front is the nightmare before christmas one.

just need to paint the brake calipers, get new tyres, put the wheels back on and reregister it. getting there.

Small amount of progress.

Painted the rear brakes, put the gunmetal ATTS rims on the rear with blue lightweight nuts.

and took the headlights out to fix a flickering parker LED. while they were off i took them apart, painted the frame gunmetal and cleaned the lenses.

The sawblades are coming off.
infact the rears are already off.
the ones that were blue are now in matt gunmetal...they are on the back and will be going on the front too.
