Hello Guys,

I have just gotten a quote from Honda Artarmon for the 160,000km service: $800.00.

I would like to hear from you if it is worth to do it with the dealer or if I should consider a garage. If so, would you guys recommend a trustworthy place to do the service?

Thank you in advance!

Kind Regards,

blommer

I didn't get a written quote. However, I did a research here: http://www.hondafitjazz.com/manual/A00/HTML/AJ/SAA2EAJ000000000000JBAT03.HTML

The guy at the nrma services said it is basically 5 filters + oil + brakes etc etc...

No timing belt mentioned...

DIY it... it shouldn't be too difficult if it's just filters and oils...

Timing belt should be every 5 years or 100,xxxkms
Do you know your condition or the last time it was done?
And doing those filters and oil - you can save a pretty penny and do yourself
$800 seems a bit excessive

no timing belt in the jazz

filters replaced would be oil, air, fuel, pollen (don't really need). not sure what the fifth would be

other things changed: engine oil, brake fluid, brake pads and rotors (depending on condition), spark plugs (gli model only)

labour: service, valve clearance check/adjustment, inspect belts and hoses, check parking brake adjustment, check headlight alignment

possible also CVT fluid as it needs to be changed more frequently than what's specified in the service schedule

just DIY or local garage would be fine. make sure that they only use genuine cvt fluid, if it needs to be changed.

Sounds good guys...

I am about to do it at Midas or the a NRMA Service centre in Brookvale... They have similar prices, Dealer, Midas and Service centre: estimates from $720.00 to $850.00.

I flushed the CVT recently - Dealer. So, I guess it is just the blow of a major service.

Since they have close quotes, I guess the best bet is the dealer... right?

Cheers

To be honest, mechanics can be equally shit wherever you go. Or equally good. Depends where you go.

There are no timing belt on the jazz, they are timing chain.

The only belt is the drive belt (1 belt that runs your AC and crank pulley).

my mate got his changed and new g/box oil at HANNY's for under $200.

give Rob a call from HANNY's hell sort you out.

Just so use to saying "when was the timing belt done"
If i'm not mistaken the R,L & K series use timing chains?
