Hi all

My fd has done almost 55k and needs a routine service. Might get atf changed too.
Anyone know a good mechanic around sunnybank area of brisbane?

i just got quoted $240 to change ATF from a local mechanic. The logbook service itself is $165 which i thought is pretty average.

is the ATF change an ok price or a rip?

Personal recommendation is to go to the dealership, I got charged for the service, then just the MTF fluid on top (I drive manual, I presume you're driving an automatic so it will be the ATF as you stated).

It's not until 120,000km/72month service they do the MTF/ATF though, but if you half it, the better it will be for your car. In saying this I just got mine changed at the 20,000km service, as I want to get the factory fluids flushed by 30,000km, then do the transmission every 20,000km/30,000km, not on any advice of anyone, but for my own peace of mind knowing I've done the best I can for my car, to ensure it will be on the roads for as long as it can be.

Thought $240 was a rip. called the mechanic again and its only $80! He thought my car had a CVT lol
CVT fluid not cheap apparently

DIY is best, but if u dont know what ur doing, take it to mechanic.. $80 sounds reasonable.. ask if the auto transmission fluid they're putting in is ATF- DW1.. ATF-Z1 works fine but is the old stuff.. the DW1 is the newer synthenic type

Just had my car serviced and ATF changed.
I must say there is an immediate noticeble difference
the gear box now responds to revving much better than before. It feels like the engine is making more power now.
before the change it used to do kinda "half a lazy clunk" sometimes but now its gone :)

does anyone know where to get the transmission drain plug washer?.. its made of aluminium 18mm and the part number is 90471-PX4-000

i already went though peter warren honda, bunnings, supercheap auto, and autobarn and they dont have it.. i've only seen a 18mm fibre washer but isnt made of metal and is much thicker which i dont wanna use.

there is ebay but they come in sets of 10 and will take a while to come from the states. i just wanna get em here locally

1 week turn around from the USA, for one washer though seems a little overkill, surely hondie would have one or they're just being jerks o.0

i need a new one, its leaking abit when ive reused it... same goes for the engine oil plug washer (which i reused before and now starting to leak) but thats not as bad compared to the transmission washer
