My car just hit 3000kms on the clock and what I realised is when the dealer first time fuelled up my car with their 95 shell' I had 480kms out of it, of coz I was driving gently that time, but now I have been always fill in 98 and each tank runs about 430 Kim's that's it, and I'm not flooring it at all, on the clock it says 12.4l/100kms..

I'm wondering how many kms u guys getting out of ur CU2 Euro?
Would like to know if there is anything I can do to make it better cheers all

hey,
Getting 430km's reminds my of my CL9 i wasnt getting my shit k's outta a full tank and couldnt find a solution.

i purcahsed a cu2 (AUTO) last week i filled up a fulltank myself cause the 1st owner left me with an empty tank :( i had 0kms to head to a petrol station. Anyways i poured 98 V power, 65ltrs cost me $105 that day and so far ive driven 505km with about another 95km to go, on my clock it im running 11.2ltrs/100kms and im unhappy. one guy on Aus Euro reached almost 950km on a full tank 98, i think it was with BP ultimate. my next fill will be BP ultimate and see how my fuel consumption will be.

i usually keep my rpm at about 2.5 - 3.5, only kciked it into vtec mode twice. (funnnnn)

sign up to AUS EURO on facebook they may be some guys that would be able to help u.

Thanks Chii , I'm pretty upset about it becoz it's weird it's a four cylinder and with a 65 litres tank not even 450 with any 98 petrol.... Can't understand

Sydney weather for the past week = air con. Combined with start stop traffic lights = easily get 12.4L/100kms IMO

Not sure on your driving style but I'm getting 11-12L/100kms with start stop driving no highway. People with lower consumption are doing mixture highway combined with traffic lights. Traffic lights (having to stop then accelerate again) makes a big difference to fuel consumption compared to smooth cruising on highway.

It really comes down to the driving conditions and what fuel you used.

Although you may not be flooring it, might be stop/start traffic like chuna said.

please don't compare your car to the 950km one, he lives out in the country with towns population of 5, it is so much different to us! 12.4 sounds normal, but 430km is i gotta admit is very bad! i was dissapointed with my 540km+30km left reading (had a good roadtrip at the start too).

i'm on 10-12, depending how i drive (vtec or not), i'm getting pretty much the same as 3chii. but with 40kms left, however i did vtec alot so that was the problem, start and stop traffic is also a big killer and idling is very bad for it too!

you can reset your ecu (take off battery for 15mins, make sure you got your cdplayercodes) it fixed my consumption from 13 to 11 cos i took the resonator off so now its running more economical with the reset!

I get 600 kilometers per tank,and always use 95.

I do a combination of driving, and am quite happy with my cars consumption.

Yea I do stop/starts but not much everyday, the car is only 3200 kms and don't know if it is still necessary to reset the ecu, but i will have a go see how it is ..

I use bp or shell 98 all times can't believe only 450 out of a tank....

sounds pretty much about right. Traffic conditions is definitely a huge factor in fuel consumption. I filled up this morning prior to driving to work and keeping an eye on ltrs/100ks - so far driving from liverpool to st leonards im sitting on 7.4ltrs/100ks which isnt too bad but im keeping my eyes on the reading to control my acceleration.

23/12/2011 / 1002kms / 66.05 lts / 6.6O L/100 mostly hwy driving & i am able to repeat this under those conditions.

1/06/2012 / 664kms / 58.1O lts / 8.75 L/100 driving within the confines of Hervey Bay. This is the worst consumption I have recorded from a CU2, but considering that tank was over a 5 1/2 month period it is more than acceptable.

It all comes down to driving conditions, traffic density & the way you use your right foot.

K24 maybe one of Honda's more efficient engines, but that isn't saying much as Honda has been behind the ball game for a while now (first the GFC, then the thailand flooding meant no funds and no new innovations or technologies). The K24a in the Euro's have been the same for a decade, since the first CL9 was released in Australia in 03. Considering the CL9 was rated 9.9l/100km for a manual, and the CU2 is about 150kg heavier but for essentially the same engine, getting 12l/100km for an Auto is nothing out of the ordinary. The manual did poorly on FWYs though due to the short gearing, which improved with the newer generation from memory.

The cas still running in, it'll get better after the 1st service when the oil change gets rid of the run--in addictives

i get about 600kms give or take from a full tank of 98.

i generally run with just the fans and rarely use aircon, makes a massive difference..

Fredoops, I have to disagree with that statement. I purchased my MY12CU2 in October 2011, in the first 2 months i travelled 3365 kms with about 90% of those kms highway use. Since december 2011 I have only travelled 1708 kms, 100% of those kms have been under a distance of 7 kms around town. I set Trip B to show long term fuel consumption before i left the dealership on the day of purchase, as of today it is showing 6.8 L/100 - actual average is 7.21, I would not consider my car to be close to being run in with under 5,100kms on it.

MY13 CU2 manual running BP/Caltex 95

My long term (almost 2,000km since new) is 9.1l/100km trending down while current tank (600km, about 80% country, 20% city/extra urban) is sitting on 8.4l/100km, occasional city stop start traffic.

Find it funny when I fill up at the Caltex/Woolworths Heathcote and hit the highway that my estimate reads > 990km, wonder if anyone's attempted Syd/Mel on a single tank?

I don't know how far it is from Sydney to Melbourne, but it is possible to get over 1000 km out of a tank in a CU2 auto. done it a couple of times
