Just chasing some info about valve seals for my d15b7 which is currently suspected leaking valve seals (a bit of oil build up in the spark plug hollows).

questions:

How much should I expect a mechanic charge me for the 16 valve seals?

how much should I expect to pay for them to repair the seals (how many hours of work? Valve cost not included)

Is this a good deal? http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009A2W41M/ref=ox_sc_act_title_3?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A36LLNMLT275EK

How should I go about this the safest way - a weekend with some tools or leave it with the pros (I'm savvy but inexperienced)

Thanks for the help, any info is appreciated!

If you have oil building up on top of your spark pugs then you need a set of spark plug tube seals http://www.amazon.com/Beck-Arnley-039-6542-Spark-Plug/dp/B000CB0VS8/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1358982281&sr=8-1&keywords=honda+spark+plug+tube+seals

Or you can just get a new gasket set http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/88-95-Honda-Civic-CRX-1-5-D15B1-D15B2-D15B7-D15B8-D16A6-Valve-Cover-Gasket-Set-/160946365831?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item257926a587&_uhb=1#ht_3416wt_1134 Which is a much better option

Is $65 reasonable for that set? (I know OEM would be a gajillion times more but)

From experience the Honda OEM spark plug seals are about $20 each. So $65 is a good deal IMO. Simple job to change them. Remove spark leads, rocker cover comes off with a few little nuts etc, take the plugs out last (so you can clean up the oil and it won't go into the spark plug hole) and just pop the old seals out of the seat in the underside of the rocker cover. Use some gasket glue around the curves/corners on the rocker cover gasket otherwise the gasket should be alright to re-use unless it's really old (in which case just replace it).

Well my sister is paying for it to be put in (safer that way - I'm inexperienced and we still share the car) but I'm happy about that pricing then!
