petrol smell when driving

Hey guys,

Im getting a real bad petrol smeel whenever i drive my dc2 and the windows are down....its not oil just petrol and its reallly strong....i dont really know what it is

Maybe a fuel tank leak???


Ive never had this before...any clues would be appreciated....

check the engine bay for leaking fuel lines and everything related to fuel.
OR
maybe its just tuned wrong.
When in doubt, get it checked out by a pro :D

you reckon the screws from holding the amp under the seats punctured the fuel line??

did you ever overfill your petrol at the pump station? I've done that and you get petrol smell for quite a while.

umm....i dont think its over filling cos i just got a new amp installed in place of another and they drilled in to the floor unde my passenger seat........and im pretty sure this is when it started....so i think it is the fuel line.....cosit has never been like that in the past...


Does anyone have an idea how much it will cost to fix??

Jack your car up and check it out yourself before you jump the gun. Feel around where they drilled to see if there is petrol. Hopefully not though. Visually you should see the end of the screws underneath the car.
