old thread - but the best that a search came up with
does anyone know if the 2006+ Euro has the better intake cam like the US TSX does?
do our australian CL9 euro's have the same cam specs from 2003-2005 and then the better intake cam from 2006+
basic question is would the AUDM 2006+ or USDM 2006+ euro/tsx intake cam be a good upgrade for a 2004 model 6mt euro (K24a3)
(would be installed along with toda 40deg VTC)

Im running the 06 intake can in my 03 CL9 paired with a pinned 40 degree vtc and it's awesome to drive. A cheap upgrade DIC. You will need flashpro/kpro to run it with a good tune. I got mine e-tuned from vitviper from etunez who I recommend. My car no longer drives like a euro.

with the 06 intake cam and 40deg VTC - do you HAVE to run engine management?
because a K-Pro is in the region of $1500 and to get the flash pro to work on the earlier TSX you have to buy an 06+ ECU, harness and flashpro - which works out to be around $1000
or is the flash pro plug and play with our older euro's?

You need to have engine management to benefit from those mods. Flashpro is not plug an Play with any of the AUDM CL9. Out of all my mods Flashpro was the most expensive. You need to spend abit of money to have fun.

Flashpro is about $1500-1600 + tune
Not sure about K-pro
theres also the up and coming ktune btw

yeah iv been reading about the new ktune
i have seen K-pro around locally at the 1500$ mark
might just save pennies and jump on that
pretty keen for engine management - one of the best mods i have done on any other car
i tune myself though - not keen on letting other people do it
have alot of hands on experience with S300 - havnt use the k-pro or flashpro yet tho
i know i would need management to get the most out of those mods - but will i get desent gains/benefits on the stock ECU?
40 deg VTC
08+ intake cam

Wuism has krop dual on his accord euro
no cruise, no VSA.
40 deg VTC
08+ intake cam
comptech headers
comptech intake
oem exhaus
I highly doubt the ECU's gonna even use the VTC/Cam so thats out
CT-E icebox and headers are good but you'll need a high flow cat with it.
TheSaint

already have the icebox - want to get headers and cat asap
not really keen to loose the cruise control - do ALOT of travelling in the week and thats the main reason for buying the car
you cant swap out the VTC and cam and put in an 08+ ECU with the hondata adapter and leave it to learn?
or just do the cam on the original ECU and let it learn? or is it too much of a change?

put a CU2 ECU in CL9?
CU2 has a 2-lobe vtec camshaft instead of 3-lobe in the CL9.
Highly doubt it'll work. at all..

ok so with 2006+ cam, intake, headers + cat (forget VTC for now)
the stock ecu wont allow for the gains on the cam? - the american guys say that it can
my question (now clarified) would be, would it be beneficial to upgrade to the 2006+ ECU as well as the cam?
Fredoops

forget cam till you can do the ECU tune together.
TheSaint

how do the USA guys get away with it than?
or do they just get a placebo effect?
is there anyway to get engine management and cruise control working?
or does one negate the other?

flashpro/ktune
or piggyback
TheSaint

what piggy back options work with the CL9?
i have read that the VAFCII and AFC NEO dont work with this car and engine
what other options are out there?
i really appreciate all the information Fredoops - thanks mate =)

what piggy back options work with the CL9?
Greddy eManage ultimate (someone in trades is actually selling one now)
Haltech platinum
VFAC2 actually do work, just not that great.

is it worth changing the vtec point on stock euro?
or with the above mods?
from what i have read alot of people either bring it down to 5000rpm
or they upgrade the valvetrain and raise redline closer to 8000rpm
but i wouldnt be as interested in the second option as the K24 already has a longer stroke
(basically has the same rotating mass as the K20a has at 8000rpm when it his 7000rpm)
and im guessing that bringing the point down while running the stock intake cam will most likely only hurt economy and make more noise lol

VTEC engagement between 4500 to 5000 are popular among tunes.
Won't necessarily drink a lot more since the tune should lean out the burn by a decent margin.

Since the flashpro now successfully work on the AUS EURO, dont bother with the Hondata Kpro with the dual harness. It works out cheaper with the flashpro and the car runs much better on the flashpro compared to the Hondata. There is member here who made the switch, so he can comment on the upgrade

so the flashpro is plug and play with the 2004-2005 euros?
or do we have to convert to the 2006+ ECU like the guys do in america?
if its plug and play than i would buy the flashpro first =)
Fredoops

s
or do we have to convert to the 2006+ ECU like the guys do in america?
^^^ that, you need a $600 dollar TSX ecu and flashpro

Just to clarify you will need the 07-08 TSX ecu to run flashpro on any CL9 weather it is 03-08. I was runing 06-08 TSX intake cam and vtc mod plus J35 and RBC mani without Flashpro on stock ecu for 1 week and performance increase was minimal. Once i installed Flashpro and tune it was like night and day. My e-tuner estimates between 220-230 hp at the wheels. I will confirm this in the next week or so when i do power run on the dyno.
I will suggest anyone wanting to get Flashpro is to get a used ecu from any of the US junkyards on the net. They roughly go for $200-400 MT or $100-$200 AT. I got a used MT ecu for $300 shipped. I also got flashpro plus harness for $670, so shop around.
With regards to the upgraded 06-08 Tsx intake cam, my understanding is that its only found in usdm versions of the CL9.

thanks for the info - and the heads up on the cam
which VTC are you using? - theres been alot of animosity about the OEM 50deg VTC vs using a milled or toda 40-45deg VTC
