Hi, I am kinda a noob to cars, so I was driving in the heavy rain on monday (Sydney) then left my car yesterday and I took it out for a spin this morning, the throttle feels really heavy and feels like something is preventing me from stepping on it, so i cant really control how much gas i put in. This seems to happen when ever i leave my car for a few days . So just wondering if there is a way to make the throttle more smooth...

Maybe take a look at your throttle cable/ spring and spray the spring with some wd40

Pod filter my be soaked from heavy rain, depending on your set up. And the cars struggling to breath!. Go for a run and breath through a straw! See how you feel!

Also would hurt to clean out the throttle body with some carby cleaner....

Right next to the end of the air intake hose! You'll see a metal wire going to it!

1. Get a car buddy
2. Pop your hood and stand infront of the car facing the engine bay.
3. Tell you car buddy to enter the drivers compartment and depress the acclerator
4. You will see that there was movement in the engine bay - a cable
5. On the end of that cabe where it turns that spring/ spindle thing is the throttle body.

Here you can see the throttle cable running from the firewall and your accelerator to the throttlebody and engine

and this is the throttle and body

turn the throttle with your hand while engine off and see if it rotates freely or feels jammed or not

also inspect the airfilter in the airbox and make sure its reasonably clean and not causing a blockage

if the inside of the throttlebody is greasy and dirty,as grofty said spray it with carby cleaner and wipe it clean with rags to help it function well
