Helloo Peoplee =] My name is Alistair and this is one of my many cars.

I thought would make a thread for the new car that I'm doing a swap and what not on.

I brought this DC2 Integra VTi-R back in July for pretty cheap

http://imageshack.us/a/img835/7808/22140542824119771831977.jpg.

The wheels were white...

http://imageshack.us/a/img812/8474/46121837321399807272193.jpg.

I liked it with the white wheels better.. anywayss..

It had the B18c2 engine! sweet
It went pretty good but the engine was a little smokey under acceleration. Damn.
Its got buddy club coilovers
17inch wheels
Blaaaaaack interior (Yess)
Apexi VTEC controller
http://imageshack.us/a/img818/2135/imag0380ij.jpg.

Swapped the WORK 15x7 wheels from my EG Civic

On to the Integra
http://imageshack.us/a/img209/8189/imag0182w.jpg.

Got a ASR subframe brace
(not my pic but you get the idea, mine is gold)

Rear camber arms

http://imageshack.us/a/img5/1866/imag0372burst001.jpg

All was good until i was using about a litre of oil every 200km :|
Still made 118hp tho
http://imageshack.us/a/img51/1121/imag0329f.jpg.

So I had heard of B20VTEC swaps before so read up on it and found this
http://www.b20vtec.com/forums/b-series-tech/56400-how-build-reliable-lsvtec-b20vtec-guide.html

went and got a B20B8 high comp block
http://imageshack.us/a/img203/5088/imag0258b.jpg.
http://imageshack.us/a/img715/6704/imag0247ny.jpg.

Pulled it all apart
http://imageshack.us/a/img826/2299/imag0262g.jpg.
http://imageshack.us/a/img16/9682/imag0264ev.jpg.

I have sent the block off to get cleaned, honed, decked.

New adjustable cam gears.

http://imageshack.us/a/img194/8656/imag0320burst001.jpg.

OEM oil breathers for more engine breathing!
(not my pic but you get the idea)

http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b78/killerpenguin21/wMzU0MTg0NnM0MTNkZmQzMXk1NDE.jpg.

To a new oil catch can that should be arriving in about 2 weeks

http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/MTQ4MFg4ODI=/$(KGrHqJHJEUFDJpYSUy4BQz5MdKQ(w~~60_3.JPG.

sooo Ive pulled out the engine and gear box out of the car now, took me 4 odd hours by my self :\

http://imageshack.us/a/img59/7710/imag0353n.jpg.

All out now and up on stands

http://imageshack.us/a/img6/9506/imag0355l.jpg.

Seperated the engine and gearbox
Pulled the gearbox apart cause it was a little grindy grindy

http://imageshack.us/a/img825/4736/imag0356bk.jpg.

Found that the synchro rings where a bit beat up especially for 3rd gear!
So ive got a new Synchrotech master rebuild kit on its way.

Last night i Pulled the Buddyclub coilovers out and they seemed to be leaking a little bit, one had completely lost it(i found this out when there was a puddle of oil on the floor a few weeks ago..) So i disassembled them and cleaned them up

http://imageshack.us/a/img707/241/imag0386burst001.jpg

Today i decided that i wanted the extra 25kw for red calipers!! =]
old, chipped and faded

http://imageshack.us/a/img717/1342/imag0365un.jpg.

Wire wheeled and cleaned off all the paint, hanging ready for new red!!

http://imageshack.us/a/img89/348/imag0366q.jpg.

RED!

http://imageshack.us/a/img62/4629/imag0367i.jpg

I like cooking..

http://imageshack.us/a/img703/1378/imag0369ed.jpg.

Note to self, drain the brake fluid out of your calipers before you cook them :P

well anyways this has taken me a few hours to write cause i get distracted so easily
ill keep you updated when i get some more of the engine done which should be next week some time.

Oh i also have done a D15B4>D16A8 swap in my 88 EE3 AWD civic wago

Very good work mate

What mechanical background do you have?

Thanks man!
I am an Auto Electrician by trade, in the 6 or so years i had to do a lot of mechanical work as well, i also read/study a lot about most of this stuff before i do it so i know how to do it. It's really not that hard for me to pick up on how to do something pretty quickly too.

Thanks guuuys!
just got the rebuild kit for the gearbox and i will be doing that in the next few days. the engine is nearly done too so its not far off from being ready for a tune!!!

Awesome to see mate. Happy to watch yet another B series build.

Can I ask why you opted to shotpeen your rods as opposed to maybe cryogenically treating them?

alright lets try this again...

we will start off with the gearbox,
i got the new Pro-Series Carbon Lined Synchros and rebuild kit from Syncrotech

first was the input shaft, i pulled it down and laid it all down how it came off

http://imageshack.us/a/img35/8505/imag0403f.jpg.

I then got to putting it all back together with the new carbon lined syncros and springs and bearings. TaDaaa

http://imageshack.us/a/img14/3927/imag0405u.jpg.

I then got onto the 2nd shaft, pull it all down ald laid it out how it all came off

http://imageshack.us/a/img5/9553/imag0408i.jpg

And again putting it all back to gether with the new components. well all execpt one thing...

http://imageshack.us/a/img35/2843/imag0409cv.jpg.

See how the slider gear is sitting down a little bit, yea thats cause i forgot to put the spring on the synco :(!!! fudge it, it was about 12am at this time so i just pulled aallllll of it back off and back together with everything in place properly this time and went to bed :P

The next day i got back into it ready and rawring,

scrubbed the case, this thing was filthy before now its all nice =]
removed the old bearings and seals

http://imageshack.us/a/img850/5824/imag0410m.jpg.

Even the little magnet was caked with gunk, i didnt get a before pic but its all nice and clean now =]

http://imageshack.us/a/img824/6836/imag0412pf.jpg.

put the new bearings and seals in

http://imageshack.us/a/img402/3743/imag0413d.jpg.

Then got all the gears and forks in and ready to be closed up

http://imageshack.us/a/img835/4470/imag0416b.jpg.

Because im going for the stock kind of look im keeping the dual runner intake, it was very oily inside

http://imageshack.us/a/img694/6091/imag0401b.jpg.

So pulled it apart and got in there with a tooth brush :P

http://imageshack.us/a/img17/3529/imag0399t.jpg.

I got an awesome package!!

http://imageshack.us/a/img838/5975/imag0418r.jpg.

can you guess what it is?!?!

Alrighty so lets get this Engine together. I took everythig down to my old workshop where they have a dyno room that i could use for dust free goodness.
Here we have the p72 head, skimmed with Brian Crower flat head valves, Brian Crower Dual valve springs, titanium retainers and the oil hole blocked off.

http://imageshack.us/a/img507/3348/imag0429j.jpg.

http://imageshack.us/a/img545/3654/imag0434m.jpg.

The block, nice and shiney bores

http://imageshack.us/a/img259/1314/imag0433v.jpg.

Love this shot
Here i just dummy fitted one piston so i could clay the motor for piston to valve clearances.

http://imageshack.us/a/img845/3097/imag0427z.jpg.

there was plenty of room in there so i got the pistons and rods pressed together and started on putting it all together.

Here we have the bottom end all together, acl bearings, balanced crank, pistons and beam polished and shot peened rods, ARP rod bolts and ARP head studs.

http://imageshack.us/a/img38/772/imag0431f.jpg.

now to put the head on the block

http://imageshack.us/a/img4/9271/imag0435t.jpg.

Cams in, belt on, using standard cam gears for now, new oil breathers in the back, oil line for the VTEC YO, had the get a new speedflow T piece cause i some how broke the brass one that came with the kit :P

http://imageshack.us/a/img213/329/imag0436h.jpg.

At this point i had to take everything back home now so loaded up my poor little civic

http://imageshack.us/a/img13/3758/imag0438df.jpg.

it kind of sounded like the car was going to break in half when i left the workshop :|

Now i could get back to putting everything back onto the engine
here you can see the oil breathers piped up and the VTEC oil line has a bit of steathy protective black piping over it to protect it and not show out.

http://imageshack.us/a/img266/5117/imag0442y.jpg

Got the new chromoly flywheel and 6 puck clutch on there and the new built gear box ready to be mated together

http://imageshack.us/a/img853/7103/imag0440s.jpg

Now before i put all this kaos into the engine bay i had to find a nice place for the catch can, that i painted BLAAAACK for steathyness

http://imageshack.us/a/img571/7203/imag0430j.jpg.

After this i didnt like how the pipes were going up wards so i turned it upside-down and drilled a new hole in the side of it for a bigger fitting, so now all you see it a black square box =D

After much buggering around it finally sits in its place

http://imageshack.us/a/img96/4497/imag0443e.jpg.

Its all in and together, got new spark plug leads and you can only just notice the catch can in the back there =]

http://imageshack.us/a/img89/892/imag0446mh.jpg.

Just another awesome shot

http://imageshack.us/a/img841/5346/imag0448e.jpg.

Surprise!! Enkei RPF1 16x8 +35
