Yes you can put a D16y8 Head on a D15b. Be sure to use not only the D16y8 Head but also the the intake manifold as it's bigger.

yeah so whats the story with the fuel injection though if i were to do it...... would it remain carbie or change to efi also would any perth heads know where to start lookin? ebay proved to be useless

I don't think you'll be able to..
I think he was talking about a EFI d15b, than your carby d15b4..
I'm very doubtful that you can interchange EFI and carby..
Plus I believe VTEC was only available on EFI engines..

if that was the million dollar question you would be broke, had a word with a mech friend... 1st vtec runs on oil pressure to knock the cam lobes...
2nd Valve Timing has been around since before efi 3rdit can go either way but to go efi would give me some serious modding headaches such as replacing sensors ect to "time" the engine

hahah.... but its gonna be heaps of work to change it even leaving it carbs... but im told carbs are better of valve timing faster fuel dumping or some thing like that
