Hi guys, I've got a 1997 dc2 integra vti-r

Recently, it has been producing a chirping noise from the engine, whether it's cold or warm. (Usually louder when cold).

I've popped the hood and the noise seems to be coming from near the throttle body.

Some say it's a loose hose of some sort and some say it's my timing belt.

I'm not entirely sure where the source is coming from.

Thanks for any information :)

Engine has 179xxx on it and is due to be serviced at around 187xxx

oil is alright.

cause its turbo???? hahaha jkz jkz

U could have a vacuum leak on some where, double check all ur vac lines, zip tie em if u have to... Leaks are hard to find by sound an eye sight

Could also be that ur TB gasket has gone, could b wrong but... ANd also check ur line, the breather hose that runs from the rocker cover to the Intake arm isnt loose or crack, again which can result in the sound

If it's a squeal then I'd be incline to say its the belt...

Are you able to get use a video or sound clip of said sound? Whistle sound could be anything from small gap/leak in intake pipe/intake plenum to anything as mentioned by mugen_ctr...

Put a bit of grease on the pulley's if its a squeal its usually the timing belt.
