Hey guys
On Friday I was in the wrong place at wrong time
One way road flooded roads. No one was letting me
Turn around or anything was a one way road tried
To go around but sucked water through my injen
So today I took plugs and ticked car over by hand got rid of
All the water and done compression test
All 4 where around the 200 mark so I was pretty happy
Doesn't seem like rods are bent theirs no noises no nothing
Starts first go
I have to do an oil and filter change tomorow
Because my oil was milky so had water in it
By I realised tonite that my oil light was on
If not changing the oil and filter don't fix it what could it be
Oil pressure switch or a wire
Thought I would just share the shit of a weekend I am having
Felt like crying
So just everyone who has cai just be careful driving
In the wet weather

Yeah oil level was fine
Just finish doing the oil change and the light is off now and car is running fine

This is one thing I'm worried about.. planning on getting an injen cai for a base model dc5 but the last thing i need is hydrolock!

Would a J's Racing intake on a base dc5(auto, lol) give similar gains to a injen cai?

Essentially for an intake to be designated CAI it must have access to fresh cold air outside of the engine bay.
SRI = Short ram intake is basically air filter on the intake arm. Generally if something is exposed to cold air, it is also exposed to water/rain.

Dont bother modding a base dc5. You wont see any improvement or it will be neglible compared to the coin you spent.
Only thing I'd mod if I had to would be suspension and handling.

Mate screw impressing. I have stock box with K&N drop in filter. Removed the restriction below the box. And have 4" hose straight to the bumper facing direct air flow.

Only thing better would be the mugen air intake for the DC2

Car mods. Why mod somthing and make it worst. All the poeple who play with the intake manifold, throttle body and put a stupid intake on a DC2R biggest waist of money and time. And you get all thoughs MINUS KW's ATWS. Any CAI pipe with a open pod on any car is the stupidest idea. You loss power to gain noise. Also you run the risk of ****in your motor. a smart person would open up the exhaust. More noise for you fully sicks and also power increase!


To add with just my tight ass external mods and tune i managed consecutive high 13's at the quarter. Its not about the money you spend. Its how wisely you spend it!

although in injen is made in such a way that it dosent get the coldest air possable its location is a saftey measure and a good trade off, although a mugen style box is still safer, an injen IS a more efficiant design.

lemme just also add that if u can find me a N/A car that has has achived even for a single cycle 100% or over volumeric efficiancy using your air box of your design then ill drop it but at least injen put money into research into there product, where as you without any undertsanding of physics come out and say there product is ineffective? why? cause you dont understand how things work.

I get the physics mates. Thinking simple colder air is more dense which in turns means more air isn't the hole picture.

Having a filter in open air, will decrease response, decrease power. Even while sucking cold air from you wheel well.
