Running rough, engine light on

Hi all,

'04 Accord V6. This week the engine light came on while the missus was driving. It's running quite rough at idle although seems to smooth a bit when revving. Short test drive it seems a bit hesitant or jerky although might be imagining it. Still rough at idle after a warm up. Light still on. Strong rotten egg smell out the back.

The book is a bit vague but seems to suggest the engine light might indicate a problem with the emission system which could explain the smell.

Nothing out of place I can see under the bonnet.

Any suggestions? Am I better off just taking it to Honda?

Catalytic converter may be blocked - would explain all of the above symptoms. Otherwise o2 sensors playing up and emissions are out.

No point mucking around with it. Take it to honda, theyll pull a code, and tell you straight away what the problem is.

Sounds like you have no idea. So take it to honda. It could be so many things. and if you try one by one it will cost more then to take it to honda!

New spark plugs and all good. Running like a dream again.
