Hey guys, Im just wondering if anyone here can help me determine weather this Integra is a genuine Type R or if its a normal Integra with a body kit and badges.

I can see the cluster goes up to 9000 RPM but worried about the steering wheel and engine bay. Heres the link the the add.

Looks like a normal integra with body kit. You can get the vin and engine number and do a check?

Looks like a DC5R based on the VIN you provided.

However the steering wheel is NOT a DC5R steering wheel - DC5R steering wheels have the Red H badge.

Make of this what you want. Could just be replaced for innocent reasons to replaced cause of a major accident that caused airbags to go off.

Also, the 'Type R' badge is in the wrong spot on the rear of the car.

Why don't you ask the owner any questions you may have.

If you're only concerned about it being a genuine DC5R then driving it and checking engine and VIN numbers should help.

as you can see the rear number plate has been damaged badly , must of been in a accident for sure , replaced steering wheel with normal dc5 steering wheel :/

Doesnt the Type S have a black badge on the steering wheel?

Seems that if you look at the license plates on the rear that it has a very nasty scrape on the top right edge...

Im guessing that he had a smash, and was a repaired write off...

Wow you guys have a really keen eye. I called up the seller and he has no idea if its been in any accidents as they have only owned it for the last two months. They also have no idea what mods have been done it.

Guess it's worth staying away huh ?

Thankyou guys for the help. Really saved me the trouble.

Can someone tell me is it normal for DC5R's to lose their manifold covers ?

The inlet manifold cover ? Yeah. A lot of people remove for a cleaner look. Or the mounting tabs are weakened by heat and broke off

If you need to get a PPSR (REVs) check in the future, I would recommend www.getppsr.com.au (https://www.getppsr.com.au). Only $8.95 & you get encumbrances, write-off history, as well as stolen vehicle records.
