Hello my fellow Honda owners/lovers.
I'm in the market for a Honda Accord Euro Luxury but I'm a bit confused about some of the VIN numbers I've come across.

Isn't there supposed to be a distinct pattern? At least that's the impression I get from looking at redbook.
for example it seems the 2006 Honda Accord Euro Luxury is supposed to start with
JHMCL96806Cxxxxxx
however I've seen
JHMCL96906Cxxxxxx
Is there any meaning to the 9 instead of 8?

Apparently the difference betwen the 8 and the 9 is that the nine signifies a euro lux with navigation, and the 8 is without nav.

so youve got
J - japanese country
H - Honda
M - Passenger car, built in Japan
CL9 - the model
6 - Auto Sedan
8 - luxo without navi
0 - check digit
6 - manufactuered 06
C - made in Sayama, Saitama, Japan

Thanks. Is there a source for this information? Stuff I've found online tends to be roughly valid but more specific for the US market.
