Engine problem! Strange noise! Please help! :(

Hi there!

I'm new to owning and driving a Honda! I just got my p plates and I have just bought a cheap hatch for like $2000. And it's making a really strange noise when I rev it hard. It seems to be at the same rev range. (About 4500rpm)

I'm scared that my engine will blow up and I don't know what to do?! Is this something anyone else has had problems with?! If so any idea on how I can fix it?!

Or should I just sell it and someone else can deal with it?
If there is anything else you need to know to help me say and tell me where to look and I'll try find it.

Don't suddenly think to sell it man,just calm down

it might be something simple you never know

For us to help,can you explain the noise a bit more in detail or even record some video of it

where is the sound exactly coming from and what type of noise,grinding rattling etc.

Nah it's not rattling or anything like that,

It's coming from the engine bay for sure.
It doesn't do it when I just rev it in neutral,
But when I'm driving it just makes a strange noise?
When whole tone of the exhaust changes and all.

This is my first car and i just don't want to look like
an idiot if I go pick up my mates and it blows up and we are all stranded.

If the whole tone changes then the combustion isnt correct

could be spark plugs,sensors god knows what

check your ignition leads are on properly,pull the spark plugs and check or even better put a fresh set to be safe than sorry

check oil level is up to top marker line

Oil was only a little under the full mark. So I topped it up. And I tried the ecu diagnostics and its not throwing any codes. I've made sure all the leads are connected properly. And it isn't misfiring or anything like that.

It runs really smoothe and sounds nice when I drive slow.
It's only when I drive fast. It has 9000rpm on the rev gauge.. That seems really high. Can I actually go that high...?
I get scared after I hear that noise at 5000 and I end up shifting gears at pretty much 6000rpm.

dont go over9000 if the engine is standard,it needs to be lvl up before you can

what engine is it anyway?

Uh. I'm not sure. I've looked all over the engine. It says DOHC VTEC on the top?
And B18C on the front about half way down? Does that mean anything?

for a b18 eg that cost 2k that is definetly fishy moyte , if you are really worried take it to a pro ! or be more helpful and give more info .

Yeah it's an eg. Hahahaha yeah I was only trolling. Don't hate me I just wanted to see how fast I could actualy get help from here. It's a b18c2 and it was just a vtec troll. But I do actually have a question. My car runs rough at high rpm. (Seriously) I have an ecu code for o2 sensor heater (I just did an engine swap) would the error 41 cause it to run rough. Feels like a rattly pinging sorta thing. (I actually want help with this) :(

ok i know how to resolve your problem

1) start car up

2) leave in neutral

3) put a brick on the gas

4) wait about 5-10hours (make sure you have full tank)

It just does it at about 7500-8300rpm just pings. And I can feel it vibrate the steering and pedals. And even worse when I downshift into high rpm. (Not limiter)

It stops for abit from 8300- limiter and I've adjusted the distributer with a timing light and its perfect.

oh i forgot to mention. it sometimes blows abit of smoke. only sometimes. someone told me it might be my crankshaft breather. but ive been told about it by many people. saying they can hear it pinging. and saying its predetonating. but it definately isnt... but ill take it for a hard run tomorrow and see what noises i can make it do on camera.
