Hello, I have recently bought a 1989 (badged) type R Integra. I've started to get suspicious about its genuineness. Information I can find from the car is as follows:
VIN: JHM DA9 3500S001478
Stamped on the block: B18A1
It's listed production date is September 1989 (DA9)
Any ideas what I have got???
Thanks...

Its an unfortunate problem that people have, however its all about the look that people want to have to make other owners jelly
But it doesnt matter, its more about what you like out of the car and what you want it to look like.
Doesnt matter about what everyone else wants you to have your car look like or what they think :)

Even though it isn't a type R, it is still a nice car, and I know I got the better of the deal on the day, but people that put fake badges on cars are just the lowest...'89 Integras seem to be fairly rare these days, and the ol' girl is in good nick even without the type R badge.

Wow that's quite a bit. 5.5k after trade in? Or before? Because you can buy a fairly clean Integra GSI (DC4) for around that price! You can even find some VTi-R's for around that or just a bit more if you are patient about it.
I hope it's really clean. Post up some pictures! By the way did the dealer tell you it was a Type R? Or just told you it's an Integra and let you believe it on your own?
