Just curious if this is a common problem/if there is a simple solution to this.

I recently bought a lip kit (mugen replica) in red and got some spray cans to DIY it to night hawk black (B92P) and the end result after sanding it down, applying three layers of primer and three layers of the paint itself, it turned out looking like a matte black color. Did I do something wrong or is this normal?

Got the paint matched same place as the MCM boys.

Thanks.

sounds like you're talkig about the finish rather than the colour match.

you need to clearcoat it and buff it

I personally think if wont be 100% no matter what. Newer paint always looks newer just have to stare at it long enough to notice lol.

i feel silly now haha new to DIY, i'll try it tomorrow. I know clearcoat does change the finish a bit but I mean after the third layer it looks like 100% matte black but then again maybe it does need a clear coat to shine and a buff!

and thats also very true amant02 haha
