Hey everyone, just a quick question regards to this cel code which comes on after about 5-10mins run time. I believe its a 10 which is the IAT sensor? Also on a cold start up the car surges (when warmed up all is well), I've taken out and cleaned the IACV which didn't fix the surging. Would the IAT cause this? or will I need a replacement IACV.

Thanks guize

Update: New o2 fixed issue

Well if your getting a IAT code I would replace that first and see how you go from there. It's pretty easy and simple, should take you about 1 min to change it.

after cleaning the IAT did you reset the ECU? pull out the back up fuse for unhook the neg terminal on the battery?

and also i read my engine codes myself before (1,2 and 23 on obd0 engine) and from memory the long flash (10) was longer then that.

so it may be a 1 which is heated O2 sensor.
presuming that it is a OBD1 because it looks like an EG

Yeah mate I reset the ecu after I cleaned the iacv however it still surges when cold. I suppose it could be the O2 sensor..? Might just replace them both

looks more like code 1

code 10, the MIL should be on for 1 sec

The engine is a d15b and has a single wire o2 sensor. Thanks Dave and ecu man I'll get it replaced

Edit: OZA218-H2 is the right ngk sensor

don't just replace it,

code 1 doesn't mean replace O2, you have to test and prove its the O2.

90% chance it is the O2 but it could be the wiring, connector or ECU

i used his trouble shoot to determine that my engine swapped car had the primary o2 sensor wired to the knock sensor port, the secondary o2 plugged wired to the primary o2 sensor port, and that the knock sensor was connected to the secondary o2 port.

very handy to check and quite easy too if u have a multi-meter with long leads.
