Hey
I'm looking at getting an integra as my next car.
Been doing a bit of research and honestly stuck.
I really want something with power and quite like the dc5 look and interior dash etc.
Some people have suggested dc2 but :\
was wondering if anyone had a bit of advice or anything?
specifically on the engine/badges
Thanks :)

This can be easily searched on Google.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honda_Integra
There have also been threads like this covered before, for example: http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/showthread.php?7497-DC2-type-R-vs-DC5-type-R
To put the biggest differences simply, DC5 = more power but heavier. DC2 = Less power but lighter.
But there's way more to it than that.
Which models specifically are you comparing? there are fast and slow versions of both..

Yeah I have been googling.
well I've been on carsales and pretty much the only integras around are GSi's but doesn't seem to have Vtec so pretty much not interested.
Managed to find a DC5 coupe 2002 but also found a DC 2 VTi-R which is a 1996 model.
As I said I'm really going for power but will probably look at minor engine mods i.e air intake etc etc. not that it'll do a whole heap but every bit counts.

type R's are a bit out of my price range i was looking at :P
plus there are none second hand.
Although there is a smashed up type r in victoria i could probably purchase but then it'll cost heaps by the time I get brought over and it's a written off vehicle so have to pass all that crap through the service sa and cant be bothered!
but are the dc 4s even that good or?

Ok. If you are comparing a Base model DC5 to a DC2 VTi-R, the DC5 has more power, but weighs more. This is where you need to consider power to weight.
I personally think in this case the DC2 will perform better.

type R's will come with insurance premiums anyway.
a dc4 gsi will be slow
a dc2 vtir will be nice
an integra 'luxury' will be slow
are you dead set on integras only? what about ek4? bb6?
the hatch is more practical and the bb6 interior shits all over the ek

not entirely deadset on integras
but I'm not huge on hatchbacks annnnnnd nothing in my price range for bb6.
as for civics i have googled a bit, but i dont really get there badging/series and everyone always talks about them but it doesnt make much sense to me because I've never really sat down and read about them properly but there engines in each series confuses me and well when i was looking at it on google today so i don't really know which series is the best civic and what badge and all that. thats why i havent really looked into civics. all i know is that i deffs want vtec.
woman.. very fussy with my cars!!! not very leanient as i probably should be haha

VTIR are faster, not by much but are. But the engine noise, vtec engagment extra makes the car alot better.
Id get a Dc2 VTIR over a Base Dc5
Even the Ek, preludes VTIR are nice

Depends how important aesthetics are to you.
I personally hate the dc2 front unless its JDM. The profile and the back look nice.
dc5 looks nice inside and out.. the only thing i don't like about the dc5 is the middle of the hood, the kind of curve/spine on it..
Also depends how much money you want to throw around. I just got a dc5 on finance the full comp is ridonkulous. Also if you're tossing up between manual and auto get a manual because that way you can go kpro without serious hacking. I went auto coz im lazy as shit and also ive never really driven manual.
If you're going DC5 suss out clubrsx.com first, there's tonnes of threads there that can give you ideas. It's US-focused tho obviously.
