I'm slowly now in the process of swapping my b18 into my ek.

I know about the mounts and I nearly have the T bracket and timing belt bracket in my possession.

So I've been reading heaps, as my b18c2 is obd1, and my ek is a 1999, so therefore a obd2b. Most people suggested an entire loom swap to an ek4, but I'm not keen on the idea of ripping my dash out and stuff like that.

Before I go ahead I need some knowledgeable opinions on how to proceed in terms of wiring, (WITHOUT an ek4 loom) it might get a bit wordy so bear with me here.

Most of my info has come from american sources so I'm not entirely sure how well it applies but nonetheless.

1. Alternator
- get an obd2 B-series alternator or obd2 to obd1 alternator jumper

2. Distributor
- get an obd2 LS distributor or obd2 to obd1 distributor jumper harness

3. ECU jumper
- you will need an obd2a to obd1 ecu jumper (not an obd1 to obd2, your car is obd2 so you need to step backwards to an older ecu)
- get an obd2a LS ecu and ecu jumper will not be needed.

4. Injectors*
- you can keep your current obd2 injectors
- swap in obd1 injectors and add in the injectors clips

5. IACV
- if your car is equipped with a 3-wire idle air control valve (i belive non-vtec EK's have the 3 wire idle air control valve), you will need to convert your wiring from the 3-wire plug to a round 2-wire connector

Dizzy adapter:

Ecu conversion harness:

obd2->obd1 injector harness

And as an extra, b18c gsr vtec subharness

Now some questions, injectors, alternator, power steering and A/C.

Injectors, will that adapter be fine? Or should I try the clip method.

Alternator, should I try and find an obd2 B series alternator or try and find a harness?

Power steering, I can keep the b18 pump and bracket from memory, is that correct? And A/C, I'd need a 97+ (?) CRV A/C bracket and reuse my D16 compressor?

IACV seems pretty straight forward, I'll do more reading on that.

tl;dr obd2b->obd1 without ek4 loom and minimal chopping.

I can make you a custom loom

you use the B18C2 engine loom and adopt my loom from the green cabin connector out to the engine bay

you will need to have the DC2 cabin loom.

your EK is either ODBII or OBDIIa not OBDIIb

custom loom is much easier and is alot neater.
I had someone fab me up one also when i did a conversion.

Get a good autoelec, cos its too hard trying to figure it out n then the car runs like crap cos you didn't do something right.
Or you get a dodgey backyard guy and he wires it wrong and the car doesn't start (happen to a mate) or it catches on fire (happen to another mate)
ECU man knows his stuff with electricals

How does someone manage to get it to catch fire...but yeah I'll get it done properly.
