I don't know very much about cars, but own an Integra '02. I found the side mirror on driver's side smashed as well as the driver's door dinted with deep scratches (look like paint's been scratched down to the metal) earlier today when I came back to my parked car. I'm not able to drive the car much in fear of the increased potential for a car accident without my side mirror as the fact it's un-roadworthy.
I was wondering what my cheapest options are with replacing the side mirror? I can live with the dint for a while to conserve money as much as it frustrates me that someone has done this to my beloved car. I've spoken to a few people, some said I can perhaps just replace the mirror/glass part as the rest of the shell is intact, however some are saying that I need to replace the whole part (mirror & shell) as it's one unit despite the fact that the electric mirror adjustment still works, it's just the mirror is shattered to bits.
Can anyone also recommend a good and cheap panel beater in Melbourne area (preferably in northern suburbs) to fix this or should I go to a glass specialist like O'brien's since it's just the mirror that's broken? Any relevant information/advice is appreciated thank you :)
