+1 to this highly logical solution.
It's their fault, don't make it yours.

Mate, tell him to fix the $@#+ing problem. Simple... Don't let him walk all over you because that is simply the cheapest and time effective way for him. Make sure he understands you won't be going away any time soon and hopefully he realised it's just easier for him to fix it for you.
Threaten with ACCC if you need to. But don't post like a 4 year old asking mum what they should do next. You won't get any serious answers if you do.

Check this out --> http://www.fixya.com/cars/t5780847-honda_accord_euro_2005_vsa
Particularly, the advice from magdielp because it is related to the transmission:
There are two speed sensors. One is on the tranny under the throttle body and one is under the tranny.
This is the one under the throttle body

This is the one under the tranny near the right wheel.The Countershaft speed sensor is the best bet. i replaced this one on a 1995 honda accord with flashing d4 and after replacement it was gone.the part will be about 125 bucks.

So I would first check that all of the sensor plugs are connected correctly. Check the oil in the auto transmission would also be a good one. If there isn't enough oil or (worst case) no oil then that would obviously be very bad for the transmission.
