Yep! depends if you enjoy the occasional squirt of VTEC, or whether you drive with no VTEC, or if you like to VTEC it all the way..
It all effects your petrol consumption

i was very heavy footed and i got 400+ out of one tank and i never saw the petrol light come on. The fuel stick would sit right on the E - which would mean i proly had another 50k or so.

i drive a vti-r and i average about 390 - 400kms until the light comes on.. thats with you average city driving, seeing the redline once or twice every 50kms.
honestly im disapointed with the fuel economy of b-series engines.. my previous car (2.2 litre mazda mx6 turbo, running 12psi on a t28) got better fuel economy.

approx 10l/100km here, but I don't get to do much freeway driving. I estimate around 8l/100km if I did.

i've done 650km on a freeway.
400-420km city peak hour driving.

i'm like uetecu.. done 650 on the freeway.. usually do around 8.5l/100km in the city
if you want better fuel economy you need to drive gently!

Can't really do that when you have VTEC..
VTEC is friggin addictive..

I reckon stop start traffic is the real killer when it comes to fuel economy.
When you're VTEC'ing you're at least gaining lots of kms :D

YES, stop start traffic is the worst.. especially when you're at the lights..
I always VTEC it.. I dunno why, that's just who I am..
P.S. I don't drag against anyone.. I compete against myself to the speed limit

Hopefully only when your engine's all warmed up properly. :)

I dunno why i'm getting such low mileage. I've got a mate who averages 250km in his car, but he admits to flogging the car to the max, but another mate reckons he gets 500km on average
I've recently had my 50k service and nothing bad was reported ...

I get between 360-400kms if i drive 'normally' not using vtec all that often. And about 250-300kms driving pretty hard. Its very hard to drive out of vtec.... who cares how much petrol you use when its screaming up to 8500rpm

i am thinking how to do fuel economy. As i know, the A/F ratio of factory cpu is around 12.5. If I change the A/F ratio to 13.3 with aftermarket cpu. I think the car will be more faster and save more fuel.
If i'm wrong, pls correct me with detail explaination.

did you get them to check the "long term fuel trim" figures? these DEFINITLY affect fuel economy...
i think you can reset these by removing the battery cable?

by leaning out the AFR you will use less fuel.

My DC2R and provides about 400kms for a full tank.
I think i have 35litre tank or somewhere near there.... wish petrol was cheaper...

I agree with quangsta. I've filled up with BP ultimate and seem to me getting better mileage now. So far half a tank = 220km
So hopefully when I drive it till the light comes on, it'll be about 440km give or take.
But thats much better than the 350km with Optimax.
I thought all 98 RON fuels were pretty much the same. Or has it got something to do with the integra engine?
