View Full Version : ED civic motorswap/ mini me
Hi I was looking to make my Honda ED EFI because i hate cold starts, that and a manual instead of a auto box. Should I swap a man box onto the block and give it heads from a newer honda and do the mini me swap or put a whole new engine in? I'm loooking for the cheapest and easiest option, cheers.

Best option would be to put a D16Y4 in it and later chuck in a head.
Mounts from an EG needed.
yeah, sorry I'm a big newb.
not looking for power or anything, just like to learn a little about hondas and carbies because I only know anything about nissans right now, it will be the daily to get me to uni and take the girl to movies.

Throw in a D16Y4 from a EK, run a Concerto ECU and use a ED manual gearbox.

Thanks man!
I'll ask the local honda boyz/look out for wrecks, part outs and such.
Couldn't help me with a similar build thread could you?
Thanks again guys,
Zachary.

sorry mate i dont know of any, but it should be pretty straight forward. You would also need to convert the car to EFI. If you can get you hands on a CRX fuel tank, lines, engine harness and interior harness you should be set to go.

I wonder if the dearbox from the 3rd gen would suit for manual.

Best think I'd suggest mate is to go to the build section we have on OzHonda and look up the plentiful ED/EF builds we have.
grifty did specify the most (which I'd debate) but there's plenty of knowledge out there mun.
That third generation gearbox could fit the ED (WITH WORK) but it's a waste.
