hey fella's
i just got my coilovers installed yesterday and they are nowhere near as low as i expected! they are on the lowest height possible and the front is fine but the back is sitting on the bump stops!!

the coilovers are H&R and is there anyway i can replace the springs or something along those lines to make it lower? or can i trim the bump stops?

thanx!

How do yo know that your ride is setting on bumpstops? Cause my car is the same, i'm at the lowest setting at the back and it ain't low at all ( check out my garage for pics ). I'm on koni full coilovers. I'll chop my bumpstops tonite and see what happens.

I was just browsing the net a few days ago and found these rear LCA's:

Looks like they would give you an extra inch or so lower due to the way the holes are offset. Aparrently they are made by the "Specialty Products Company".

those LCA's jsut look liek a lightweight replacement....the holes dont look offset at all - look to follow the OEM dimensions ?!?

the coupe is a good nice height...!

but it's not SLAMMMEDDDD :P (as you'd expect from the lowest setting on a coilover)

but i got 15s on the delsol wit 205/50s and it still sits about 2 inch over the rear tyre but the front is sittin just off the tyre!

Just get the springs reset an inch or 3 lower. it means you cant go as high as before, but you will go lower than you could previously.

If you are hitting the bumpstop though, that means you could bottom out the strut by doing that...

wouldnt you buy coilovers to improve the handling? which is why would would pay so much for them

if you want it slammed put the original suspension back in and cut the springs, its a stupid idea cos it will handle and feel like a shopping trolley but thats how they feel when they are that low

bump stop is a little rubber thing in the suspension. And as for handling, my car is sweet, heaps better than before.

I didn't think the stock LCA's had that much of a kink in them? Will have to go out to the car and have a look lol :p

I've had adjustable coilovers put in last month and my civic is sitting perfect at the moment and I still have about another 3" drop in the front and 4" drop in the rear. Each kit has different thread lengths most will only allow for a 2"-3" drop theres very few that allow for a 4"-5" drop.

just go and get the springs reset, don't do the dodge and cut springs! I'm looking round for a set of coilovers myself. Not sure what brand yet but i will need something that will be able to set it 3/4" low from standard...hehe

Just cut my bump stops in half, did nothing at all.

does any1 know if i can replace the H&R springs that come standard with the coilovers with kings superlows just at the back?? while still using the height adjustable coilover shock??

will this effect anything with the ride?
