Hi Guys,
I was looking at HKS Hipermax Coilovers and I've noticed that the dampers
are on the bottom of the front coilover but i cant seem to find the rear damper knobs!
I've looked all over the internet and have not found any help at all.
Theres a little Allen key thing near the bottom of the rear shock but i dont think that is it. I tried putting an Allen key in a turning it but it does nothing. and i dont want to force it cause it might be something els.

That bolt down the bottom is the bolt that releases the gas inside of it.
And i managed to do that :( so i think the coilover is ****ed. Unless regassing it can fix it?

do you know that its rebound and damper adjustable or just rebound?
plus in the ohlins, it had little circlip to stops you from taking allen bolt out. max setting if you will.

Im not sure. Under the front has those little knobs i can twist and it clicks like Damper on other coilovers. I think thats Damper?
Im not sure about the rear. Maybe the front is rebound adjust only?

Yup, as long as the casing is intact I don't see why it won't work. Doubt you can pierce seals and what not with the limited access you had.

I didnt open it or anything. Apparently the seal broke and gas escaped

Ahhhh, if the seal broke and the gas escaped... Ask the suspension place before putting your coilover in for the overhaul what they think and estimated cost.
Check to see if they can rebuild using HKS parts or if possible order the HKS rebuild parts yourself.

I asked. and they said nothing Major has happened internally.
The seal just got loose and gas escaped. Costs $150 to check everything and regas.
To send it back to HKS Japan is going to cost me close to $800.
Fright, rebuild cost and then sending it back here

Ahhhh HKS unwilling to all you to buy rebuild parts and have the guys here do it.
I found this (http://www.hks-power.co.jp/en/product/suspension/overhaul/index.html) regarding the Overhaul Service/Parts for the V Sport.
Like I said, as long as the guys doing the work here for you ensure they give you the same parts/gas/fluid and quality as HKS, you have nothing to fear =)
Its the other guys that can rebuild a set of coilovers for a fraction [like 60-70% less than official channel] that normally use sub-par parts than make the coilovers blow out within 3 mths...

Yup, google around for something like erm... Coilover Overhaul/Rebuild Australia, you'll get plenty of instances with sub-par rebuilds lol...
Just gotta be careful :)
