Hi All,

Looking for an opinion on some Koni Str.t shocks I just picked up off ebay (new, apparently) for my EK1.

The shocks arrived in their boxes uncompressed (4wd ones I've got in the past were all compressed), they look new enough, but they seem to have some differences in pressure. If you push them in by hand, one pops out in about 7 seconds, two in 21 secs, and one barely moves at all (takes about 5 minutes to slowly extend).

I emailed the seller who said pushing them all the way in by hand is bad (which sounds way off?), and that the valves are often a bit sticky from sitting on the shelf and that once in the car and heated up a bit, the valves should loosen and be back to normal.

What do people think? Normal? Or did I just get a set of dud shocks?

Thanks!

Are these new or used?

I'd personally never buy used shocks.

I think these can be rebuilt... In which case, I hope you got them cheap.

Nope, they were advertised 'new in box' ... I wouldn't buy used either.

Koni apparently have a lifetime warranty on manufacturing, but I'm not sure how well this would hold up here considering they were bought overseas...

You'll have to check with the Ebay Seller first cause if brand new and they're clearly defective upon arrival then its the seller's issue.

Which seller did you buy from? Theres some sellers which sold defective ones but not sure who. Most prob a defective upon arrival like DreadAngel said.
