d16y8 vs mx5?

Hey guys, next week i will be going up to my uncles farm and he has na mx5 with just some basic mods such as i/h/e basically and just across his farm theres a straight road that goes for a few kms. (Its a private road btw9) But he was considering of racing me down that road. Now i dont own a car atm and the civic im driving is a ej8 and that belongs to my brother. My bros ej8 is fairly sto k except for a injen cai and a 2.25 inch catback exhaust. Anyone thinks this is going to be a fair race?

Just found out that the mx-5 is a 1.8 ltr instead of the 1.6. Lol. Yeah brother does know im taking his car. I will.get him to film it. We also do have a go pro somewhere in the shed.

Its pretty simple drag race. Mazda MX5 is lighter, have more litres, The Civic has a little vtec, the engine sits on the powered wheels so it may have a better start. But really the Mazda will win.
How do I know: A stupid Mazda MX-5 beaten me in one of the Victorian Motorkhana Championship course where its mostly staight with bends by 1 second.

The Mazda will win by at least 2 car lengths, 6 max.

lol my bad, the civic is front wheel drive and it has weight on it for better grip so it pulls away faster almost. and another thing to this, the civic is much heavier :(

mx5 will take the cake! the d16y8 is pretty slow.. i had a d16y1 vti and would rip ej8s all day. even slapped a few b16s. i think i got lucky with my y1. was much quicker than the usual.
