since the OP didnt list a condition hes looking for i gave that range--id pay 4k for a rebuilt b18c2 with some quality parts inside

the op has now been edited to reflect he wants a stock one so in that case then id say 1000-1500 but again it depends on your location and whats available at the time

i said a stock b18c2, a stock running unopened b18c2 with no manifolds nothing just the motor,
with between 100xxxx and 200xxxx im just trying to get a rough estimate.
I have a few people trying to swap me a b18c2 motors plus cash for my b20vtec conversion
http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/showthread.php?169920-b20vtec-3500-rims-crazy-price-drop-need-it-gone-throw-some-offers
i think between 2000/2500 plus a standard b18c2 motor is a fair price for everything in the package

no reason a b18c2 should be no more then 2.5k if its in original but good condition.
if its not so great closer to 1.4k. but i would of expectd most average ones to be 1700

well most of the b18c2 conversions with eveything i have seen on here lately on this site have been 2gs and under.
even at the honda wreckers behind gpc a b18c2 halfcut goes for 2gs and thats a wreckers.
a b18cr motor goes for between 2000 to 2700,i would never pay 2.5k for a standard b18c2 just for the motor no way

come on a k20a2 motor and box goes for 5k

Baby Face

over in wa a b18cR would be more like 4-5k and a k20 is about 4.5-6

jayeg

4-5k for just for a b18cr long motor i think you might not understand im talking about just the motor nothing else.
whatever places you have been looking at motors go somewhere else a halfcut goes for that

i think your not accepting the varous ranges and i think you should familiarise yourself with supply and demand.

it depends on conditon but for a stock long motor in servicable condition you could pay anywhere from 750-3000 if you factor shipping and wrecker prices.. ozhonda prices are diffrent from retail etc etc

For a c2 stock i wouldn't pay anything more then 1.5k.

Honbits want 2k for a 98 model front cut with only 101xxxKm on the clock. Just enquired yesterday.

Sorry forgot to mention this should have gearbox loom throtle the whole works to swap it over.

Sorry to go off topic but why are you downgrading from a B20VTEC to a stock B18C2?

Whoever said up to $4000 is on some serious drugs and still living in the 90s!

But Dave has a point too if it's been reliably rebuilt with high quality parts, it's basically a new engine and is definitely worth a few thousand at least.

Sounds bias coming from me, I know.. haha.
