View Full Version : My Track/Daily DC2R

Hi guys

Just thought i might post my build of the DC2R that ive owned for more than a year now. I bought the car stock with around 30,000 genuine ks.
I wanted to focus on handling of the car prior to anything else hence the suspension setup change, with more experience on the track and fine tuning the suspension Im aiming to hit below 1.10 at wakefield. Initially I felt bad for modifying such a clean example of a dc2r as there isnt many left with such low ks and straight chassis, but now that I have started I might as well continue. I didnt want to modify this car to the extent of bare shell and huge aero as ive always liked the lines of the integra and plan to keep it modest.

Engine: 50,000 ks b18c7

Toda ver2 extractors
Mugen cold air intake
Fujitsubo rm01a exhaust with 100 cell highflow
Spoon engine torque damper
Hardrace engine mounts

Suspension:

Mugen bushings throughout
Toda Fightex N1 damper
Cusco 25mm rear sway bar
Spoon front lower tie bar
Spoon rear lower tie bar
Hardrace shifter and sway bar bushings
Hardrace front and rear camber arms
Spoon rigid collars

Wheels and Tyres:

Ce28ns 16inch
Advan Ad08 225 45 (street)
Advan A048 225 45 (track)

Buddy club p1 sf 15x8 (track)
Brand new Hankook z221 225 45 15 (track)

Brakes:

Spoon 4 pot calipers
Dixcel slotted rotors
Endless pads (street)
Ferodo ds2500 (track)
Goodridge braided lines
Motul RBF600 brake fluid

Interior:

Momo mod 8 wheel with nsx-r horn button
Nardi suede wheel (track)
Fastline shifter
Racetech carbon kevlar race seat
custom harness bar
Sabelt 4 point harness (track)

Future plans for the car:

Jun cams and valvetrain tuned
Spoon 1.5 way LSD
Exedy HD clutch kit and flywheel
Interior bracing
Weight reduction but not stripping it to bare shell.

Just an update, new wheels and tyres coming for upcoming trackday. Buddyclub p1 sf gunmetal 15x8 wrapped with hankook z214 225 45 15. On the weekend me and my mate had a play around with the suspension settings, wound up the preload, height adjusted and driver side corner balanced, track alignment settings done and did a full service of the car. See how we go on the long weekend.

18kg front and 16kg rear, thats the recommeneded rates for the car and the shocks, if any softer re valving of the shocks is required which is quite expensive, but im running 10kg front and 8 kg rear atm and theres no point changing shocks really if i didnt want a massive difference in handling..hahaa

I can vouch for this, sucks up bumps nicely but doesn't allow the body to roll much. It's hard to imagine that 18k and 16k can be so drivable on the street.

Did you finish up your ride height this arvo?

Feels stiff when u hit em but it it absorbs the bump really well, I try to avoid all the reflectors but the feel better than when I hit em with my teins, teins felt quite rough on low speed bumps.

I can assure you, as I have been in his car with these coilovers that this is 100% not the case. It is VERY streetable on the low damper settings.

You are absolutely correct. They have been valved for the chosen spring rates, and this is a major contributor to how nice they feel.

I also thought that they would be rock hard over bumps on the street, but once I went for a drive I was amazed at how well it absorbed the road on low damper settings,

ive driven on these for 3 days now and i actually feel i could have gone 20kg and 18kg without problem, a quality damper like this absorbs road vibrations and bump and rebound is perfect...they actually feel soft over bumps on lowest setting so i will turn it up on track and take vids of the wheels to see how they react to bumps etc.

I've had the toda n1 18/16 before and believe me, by far one of the best.

Wasn't too bad with comfortability but damn did these coilovers handle well.

Car felt much more stable at high speeds. Was amazed how well the coilovers made the car more planted to the road surface.

IMO it's not so much the spring rates that makes the ride harsh but more so the damper setting.

Eg. buddy club race spec with stiffest damper is at least double the harshness over the toda on softest setting.
