Hi Ozhonda,

I'm new here and my D2 coilovers (after 2 years of ownership) had some strange oil leaking at the front where the damper knob is. The oil looks like muddy slime. The knob however still adjusts fine but i just want to be aware of everything. I know they are blown if there is oil on the shock body but this, im not too sure about, can you guys lend a hand?

Cheers!

Pictures would help...

How low is it set at? How stiff are the damper's set at?

Are the roads you frequently travel rough?

It's not uncommon for cheap coilovers to start breaking down after only 2 years especially when given a tough life.

Won't have photos of it till next week because my cars at my parents house sorry.
But the height was set to about 3/4 of the way down so fairly low. And the dampers were set to near max so it was nice and stiff.

The roads i drove in were not soo rough i avoided pot holes and humps where possible. So are you implying they are blown or? If so i might need to get another set.

Yup... It sounds like the internal seals are rupturing... Have you noticed any ability loss?
