View Full Version : Removing back seats to get to rear speakers

Hi Guys,

Will be adding new speakers to the rear soon. So I know I have to remove the rear seats and the trimming to get to them.

I found a thread, but it doesn't have the pictures anymore. Or am I the only one that can't see the images?

Is there another thread?

How big are the speakers you are fitting? I was able to remove the OEM speakers and replace them with my own through the speaker cover. The OEM speakers came out pretty easily. The aftermarket ones were quite a squeeze but a tiny bit of flexing on the panel and it's in! Give that a go before you go through removing your seats + trim. It's a bit fiddly but it's well worth it if you can manage it.

Only really annoying part is installing the screws back in (or drilling new ones) but you will manage! I think the minor annoyance of getting the screws in, outweighs removing the seats and trim. In saying that, removing the seats and trim isn't hard. Here's a DIY on how to remove the seats and trim:
