Hi everyone,

I've got a question in regards to the drivers door on my 2010 FD Civic. I dont normally look under the door but I was curious today after washing the car. There's a few droplets of water seeping out from between the plastic inner trim and the actual metal door itself. Why did I notice this? I saw water on the lip of the inner door sill, not water in the cabin though.
I know theres a piece of plastic behind the door itself to stop water but why am I seeing water droplets seeping from the panel gap?
Only the drivers door does this, other doors don't... and no I haven't touched anything and i got the car brand new in 2010.

Here's a few photos to complement what I am talking about. My car has 5 years warranty, with 2 left... not sure if the dealer fixes this stuff (if it is actually a problem, need your opinions first).

As I said earlier, only happens with the drivers door and the carpet inside is nice and dry, so it doesn't leak in... but I am concerned. And also, the drain holes are clear with no foreign crap in there so they do flow normally.

Oh just checked the door behind the drivers side, seems like theres also water droplets along the door sill.
Dunno if this is probable but my driveway slopes towards the left of the car, its about a 10 degree incline so would this be why I'm getting some water in on one side of the car and not the other?
Passenger side of the car is always nice and dry...

Water should come out of the door when water gets in it, but do not know if it is meant to come out of that location on the sedan.

I spent the Saturday doing a water leak test and the results were surprising. When I have the door closed, we have the above result... a few little droplets between the door panel and the actual metal door itself.

I open the door and do the water test on it with the door open (as in I pour it along the window sill)... AND I GET NO LEAKS AT ALL. I repeated the experiment 5-6 times to get the same result, NO WATER AT ALL.
As seen in the photos, it's only a drop or two whenever it feels like it. Carpet is nice and dry, no stains/smelliness or anything... so I am not extremely concerned to the point where I am in the corner crying. ;)

Are you sure the water isn't resting against the seal and when you open the door it rolls along the base of the door into the inside of the seal?

Try the same thing with your drivers side on a down slop with your passengers on the up slope.

Yeah, I am sure it isn't resting against the seal.

I will try the slope the other way when my exams are over. As a precaution, I will also bring this issue up with Honda next time I get the car serviced (2 weeks time) and get them to check it out as well. Just hoping I don't need a new vapour seal or something like that because that's gonna cost $$$.

Okay, just went to the dealer and asked/showed them what I was worried about. Immediately they said that its not normal and will have to replace or repair the vapour seal bag in the door panel. This is all being done under warranty so I am happy.
