Hey guys, I've got a crack on my windscreen in the wiper wiping area. Probably 10mm long and quite a noticable chip in the middle of the crack.
Vicroads RWC requirements are a bit unclear so just want to get it clarified before I go and get RWC as I want it to pass first go and not waste another ~$80 coming back for 2nd attempt.
Windscreen should be rejected if:
- badly chipped, scratched within area of wipers to the extent that driver vision is impaired and vehicle unsafe to be driven
- laminated windscreens with any crack that penetrates more than one layer of glass
- laminated windscreen with one or more fractures over 16mm in diameter or one or more cracks over 150mm in length in a single layer of glass. said fractures in glass are permitted if they do not impair drivers vision.
so is it up to the tester to determine if my windscreen is RWC? and are repairs to the windscreen by obrien or similar acceptable
hard to take a photo of the crack so you can see exactly how bad it is
thanks bois
