What do you guys think is the best way of protecting your dashboard? A mat or spray on protection?

A friend of mine recommend me protect it with armorall protection, but as we were about to buy some for my car, some guy said to us that armorall protection cracks your dashboard. He recommend to wipe it with sunlight soap to protect it. What do you guys think?

Is a dash mat really that tacky (according to my friend it is)?

dash mats are shit and daggy haha.. and after a while the bottom gets stuck to your dash board and looks ugly!... USE armorall/kitten they're the best, they protect and revive your dash from cracking and fading.. Ive been using it since i got my car and my dashboard is still looking in top condition unlike some others ive seen. whoever sed that armorall protection cracks your dashboard is a DumbAsS!

Don't use Amour All, its silicone based and long term will damage you dash.

303 is the preferred product for many concourse detailers. You can buy it from Autobarn.

I never use anything on my dash, only a damp cloth, because all the plasticsizers that are in alot of products scare me..

So does wiping the dash with a damp cloth protect it from UV rays and the like?

you would have noticed when using armorall it leaves the dash greasy like dim sums, well the reason that is, is because it contains silicone which is only good in pamela anderson and not on the dash as the silicone may appear soft its the silicone which is soft and it actually promotes the plastic to dry out, which eventually causes cracks ( its true !)

aerospace 303 is a product which contains a 25spf suncreen which prevents the uv rays just like on your skin, it contains moisturisers which re-juvinate your vinyl and unlike armorall it leaves the dash not greasy, it can be used on the steering wheel too (armorall will make your steering wheel slik)
it is an excellent product and it is only 3 bucks more expensive than the silicone in a bottle (amorall)
