I just lost one of my keys yesterday :( and in search for a replacement key.

I understand going to a Honda dealer will be pricey but was hoping to find help and experience from others in getting a 3rd party replacement.

eBay has a few keys available.

i) Does anyone have any recommendations of where to get it cut the key?

ii) Is the honda dealer the only place to programme the key?

any help would be great! thanks :)

You need to get it from Honda as far as I know. Most places just reshell the old key, and can't re-program the immobiliser chips inside the key. I checked with Astoria Honda and it was about $260 plus cutting. If you find it cheaper anywhere else, do post it. Pricing varies dealer to dealer though.

Apparently you can program the key by yourself, but I've never tried.

this is a good link however it only applies to the remote part of the key, the transponder needs to be programed with other methods.
