Hey guys, I own a b16 ek with a custom replica buddyclub spec 2 full exhaust system and thinking of a new axle back because of my defect recently.. Any recommendations or suggestions in something on what I should get? Gonna get it custom made at performance exhaust or Liverpool exhaust.

From what I know and heard.
Your more likely to be noticed by the sound of the exhaust if its way loud before the car being spotted itself.
Unless of course the car has a loud paint job;)LOL:p

158 Stationary noise levels—car-type vehicles and motor bikes and trikes

(1) In this clause:
car-type vehicle means:

(a) a car, or

(b) a utility truck, panel van, or another motor vehicle derived from a car design, or

(c) another motor vehicle with 4 or more wheels that is built mainly to carry not over 9 people including the driver.

(2) The stationary noise level of a car-type vehicle, or motor bike or trike, must not exceed:

(a) for a car-type vehicle built after 1982—90 dB(A), or

(b) for another car-type vehicle—96 dB(A), or
Regardless the fact you said you have had a defect before I would consider looking at the mufflers being used and the diameter size of the exhaust piping.

Livo Exhaust do a wonderful job and its good to hear your thinkin of going to a proper exhaust shop as they should be able to fab up something that's street legal but yet still have some performance above stock.

The bc spec 2 was custom made at performance exhaust centre so I thought it might've been a good idea to bring it back there since they were the ones who worked on it..

If you're not looking for a complete system, consider putting some resonators on, to quieten it down?

if you follow that it will sound smooth and nice tone

dont use cannons or it will sound loud and crap

exactly as ekvtirt says i have the ovally shape muffler and its only loud when actually giving it some.
rest of the time its a slight rumble but oh so lil.

i dont have a resonator though, i thought it would be overkill with such a oval muff.

Thanks guys, I'm really considering the oval tip and have been looking at the xforce varex oval muffler.. Should I just get it done without the varex control kit and just the oval tip?
