Front Lip for Del Sol

Hi peoples im wanting to get a lip for my Sol but most places only seem to have them for the eg which I have been told don't fit snug like they do on an eg.

Has anyone got a sol with a lip they have put on or has anybody had any experience with them or any advice would be great.

As far as I know the JDM EG6 lip fits fine on a delsol? $80 genuine lip > $150 fake jdmyard lip?

Ive seen a few ive added a pic below but it seems as though on the sides it doesn't sit flush up against the front bar, but this could also been from a bad install.

Ive been looking at the EG6 lip they look the best I think.

eg6 lip fits the best.. and with the picture you posted, god knows what happened there.. mine is flush and perfect.

That lip on the orange crx is an ek4 sir lip... not eg6; explains the horrible fitment.

eg6 lip on del sol will need to be trimmed/shortened. i tried it when i had a del sol a few years ago.

Is there anywhere you can get a lip from that doesnt need any modification and can be fitted straight on.

from a mate it was a oem em1 lip

here is some info I found very useful.


tools u might need for the install
-dremel, or other electric cutting device
-socket set or spanner set(not sure what sizes, but probly 10 or 12)
-a friend (highly recomended, u'll need the help to force the lip on)
-etc (cant really remember what else i used)

Step 1: take off ur bumper, trust me it will be heaps easier to do this if u can move the lip around the bumper easierly

Step 2: then lay out the lip and put it against ur bumper, and note where u have to cut.
there is a grove for where a lip would go if the delsol had one from factory
cut the lip so it fits into the grove, like so

Step 3: there are 2 peices of plastic protruding from the lip thats surpost to bolt to the bumper
however these are no use on the delsol cause they are just in the way, so cut them off

Step 4: remember to always trial fit it before u cut, and always cut off a little bit at a time
the last thing u want is to cut something that u werent surpost to and stuff up the lip
the outside of the lip should line up with where the paint stops on the bumper

^^see doesnt fit exactly, but oh well u cant have everything
the dremel is what u would use for most of the cutting and "sanding"
dont worry about what the sectons u cut looks like, all the bits u cut or sanded should be in areas where its unnoticeable once on the car

Step 5: once everthing is cut to shape and fits, start using the bolts provided and bolt everything together starting from the middle and working ur way around. this is where a friend will come in handy, either get them to hold the lip while u screw or get them to screw and u Force the lip on

remember that the eg6 lip wasnt made for the delsol, so there will be some forcing and such to get it on
also u might need to use other screws so the lip looks flush

The eg6 looks best I believe and probably the easiest to fit as well. Whats everybody think??

I just fit an 99-00 facelift ek mugen lip on my delsol. mine was Urethane plastic not abs, much better can you can bend it when using heat gun. (my was shipped from US and it was a little bended from the shipping)

Yeah i like the lip even got another one for my new del sol.
16x7?" i dont remember the offset. it was a year ago.
