Hi guys, my dc2r came with 2 keys, one black and one red. The black one works fine but when I insert the red key into the ignition the key light on the dash flashes. It fits in and turns but won't start. I'm guessing its no properly paired to the car or something. What do I need to do to fix it?

Hmmm well I tried the red key and the black key still works. What does that mean? I'd like to get a spare key made incase I lose mine, I need to use the red one as the original or I should just get a copy made from the black one?

Copy of the black one mate
Need it cut then chip matched to the car
Usually the red will stop your car from starting, I think you've been lucky lol

Is there any advantage to keeping the red key?

Unless you have the black one though mate, black one or red one are the only ones that can be copied

it means your very lucky to not have wiped the working black key from the Immo system
Is there any advantage to keeping the red key?
as mentioned its required to program in new keys, at a bare minimum 1 black key and the red key is required to get normal programming performed from a Honda Dealer. Loose the only working black key with only the red key = expensive dealer fix. Loose the red key with 1 working black key, you can no longer go to a dealer for ordinary programming, however a locksmith should be able to clone the working key. I can program in lost red keys with alternate methods when red key or all keys are lost however since you have one of each key and where lucky enough not to wipe your immobiliser programming, go a dealer and get a new black key programmed in.
