1991 honda city project vtec

thought i better post a build thread and try to keep it updated.

so about 2 weeks ago i spotted a little 1991 honda city ga2 import on gumtree and i just had to have it.

not long after i found out just how much trouble i was going to be in for the conversion to 1.6 vtec

so the car comes std with a 1.3 carb d13c engine and its buggered was hoping to register it again with the 1.3 then convert but ill have to go the hard way

anyway first things were first i had to strip and remove the old engine (already done just waiting for removal.

then Ive got to clean up the bay kill any signs of rust and paint

next Ive got to send the gear boxes off to have the bell housings cut and matched so that the block can fit on the 1.3 manual box

the donor car that i bought is a 97 civic coupe with a d16y8 in it unfortunately without massive mods to the firewall i was never going to fit the twin cam

so major points left to do are

see if i can swap the brakes over from the cars.

get master cylinder rebuilt as its fubard

put new headgaskit on the d16 and water pump t belt and adjustable pulley

and since my boss is back ill write more later

Wazzbin'appinin' Aaron? Seem to have gone very quiet. That modified G/box in the other thead, that's not your D13c's one is it, had me fooled 'cause of the position of the mount's bolt holes on it's front, so i guess it's an example you found, If you're looking for a D16 box to get the bits off to modify yours, I've got one that's busted a hole in the diff housing (broken spider gear pin). I would just want to take the gears out of it in case they came in handy.
