Hi I'm new to the ozhonda community and I was wondering if anyone could help me with a conversion I want done on my ej8.
It's a 2-door coupe 1996 Honda civic ej8 with a stock d16y8 and I wanted to see if I could take the rear end out of a 1996 accord and swap them over plz help I can't find anything anywhere? :(

No you cant.
Needs to be civic or integra.

accord is completely different.
you the correct length hand brake cables (either disc brake civic or integra)
and then you need the correct rear hubs that are designed for a disc brake. overall easier to jest get the complete trailing arms. with hand brake cables still attached.
found a wreck and did the whole thing myself.
whilst your at it replace the trailing arm bushings, as they are commonly worn. mine were almost completely gone.

So there's nothing I can do with the accord with swapping the discs and trailing arm and everything onto the civic with drums even if I got a different handbrake cable from somewhere else?

Thanks for the help guys also i noticed ur names ECU-MAN so I guess this would be a good question for you with my 96 ej I obviously have an OBD2 and I was wondering if I was to turbo my car what would I need to change it over to OBD1 and pricing and also what do you need to get the codes from them ?

why would you want to change to obd1?
obd2 is the superior system.

because OBDII factory ECU is not tuneable
Your EJ8 should have the D16Y8 engine so it will have a 3 connector OBDIIa ECU. You will need to get an OBDIIa to OBDI conversion harness and an ECU. I would recommend an OBDI with S300. The S300 can be tuned to your installed Kit and also provide boost control.

Hondata s300 (incase you werent sure)
though this depends on where you live since hondata isnt tuneable in WA.
so make sure you take these things into account.
Apexi stand alone ECU will do it and most ppl can tune those for you

Well I'm on the opposite to wa so that's all good lol but with the s300 and the Ecu where is the best place to buy from?

Speak to Josh at Sleeping Performance & Mechanical Repairs (OzHonda trader) otherwise ECU-MAN can probably sort you out.
What have you done to your car to make you want to go OBD1?

I want to turbo my car but I'm not sure yet as I also want to buy a 300zx twin turbo and it sounds like its going to cost me over 2k to get it turboed and I dunno I wouldn't mind going for a drive in a turboed Honda or 300zx to compare because I'm sure that would make my decision much easier

Buy a silva IMO. 300ZX is heavy, especially in the ass, and not as reliable. Not that quick either from my experience in them.

Turbo Hondas are quite awesome. The torque multiplication you get in such a lightweight platform makes for very fun driving and Honda engines are generally very responsive and reliable with boost applications if built/tuned well.
Honda never intended it to be this way you can be sure, but their engines love to be turbo'd.

do you want built or bought?
anyone can buy a turbo car but theres nothing special about it to anyone except maybe you feel like you have accomplished something buy paying
when you turbo a car, you meet people, make ties, learn things, and its even more yours than if you just bought it like that.

oh Jamie lol its like i told you yesterday, you have to work out what you want the car to do cause a civic and a 300zx are very different cars designed for very different things.
im happy to help you with whatever if you do want to go ahead with this but u gotta work out what you wanna do buddy

300ZX is a hand grenade on wheels
your not wrong, they are at that age as well where odd things start going wrong if they wherent maintained, given the choice i would take an s13 or a r32 they are much more pleasant to work on in my opinion
